Lecture: Zoe Weil – Teaching to Save the World

I have recently discovered TED. If you want to get your learn on check out their website.

There are some really scary but also fascinating ideas for change out there. TED is a good place to get some idea of what those ideas are.

The clip above is a brief lecture from Zoe Weil of the Institute for Humane Education who talks about using  school as a function for saving the world.

One last thing: TED had a kick off event for TEDxSFED last night. It was a brief lecture by Dr. Milton Chen. He had some really cool things to say about the future of technology in education. I’m always fascinated by how I independently come up with ideas that are currently created by other people. I really have to start stepping my game up.

If you’re interested, check out his book Education Nation, and register to TEDxSFED. It should be interesting.
