Here goes another YouTube channel that was a part of that $100 million campaign to load the site with talent. This time we’ve got directors Jon Avnet and Rodrigo Garcia teaming up to create a channel called WIGS. Their first series – written and directed by Garcia and co-produced by them both — is called Christine.
I’ve only watched two episodes but Christine (which is produced by a black woman named Effe Brown) appears to be about a woman name Christine played by America Ferrera of Ugly Betty fame (she is actually NOT ugly at all by the way) who is sitting at a restaurant participating in a speed dating session. Each episode is a different date played by some very well known and talented actors. The one below stars my man Gary Dourdan from CSI: Miami. I’ve always liked Dourdan ever since I saw him in the absolutely terrible Alien 4: Resurrection. He was the only thing good about that movie. Seeing him on a YouTube web series then turning to watch Taylor Kitsch behind a $175 million dollar blockbuster summer film makes me grind my fucking teeth.
Shadow and Act via Racialicous reports that you can expect to see more content from channel WIGS starring some actors that I really like including: Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Beals, Maura Tierney, Michael C. Hall, Jason Isaacs, Allison Janney, Jane Kaczmarek, Jena Malone, Rosanna Arquette, Walton Goggins, Jimmy Wolk, Gary Cole, Tim DeKay, Jason O’Mara, and Catherine O’Hara.
